It is Monday and the start of a very busy week, after a wonderful day of church and rest yesterday.

Worship yesterday. Our translator, Vicky, standing on left.

Skip-bo with Elvira

This morning Carla, Dale, and Ellen went to New Horizon Christian School to do teacher observations.  They are wanting to see the teachers implementation of the techniques they have been taught by PS78Teacher ministry (not just those from this year).  They also were encouraging the teachers on their faith integration observed in their teaching, and to offer them suggestions for improvement.  It was a joy for Carla and Dale to see the positive interaction between teachers and students.

Gym class

I stayed back at the apartment with Elvira where I watched her make her famous guacamole and salsa verde.

Hopefully when I return home, I can try it for myself.  We also walked the two blocks to Walmart for some groceries.   Then we carried the 8 bags groceries back to our place – which included two 2-Litre bottles of coke and an 8 litre bottle of water.  Did I mention it was 90+ degrees?

The main meal of the day is eaten between 2 and 3 pm, so when Dale, Carla, and Ellen returned from the school we had the meal ready for them.

Around 3:30 we went over to the church to set up for Dale’s parent seminar in the morning.   The room where it will be held is on the 3rd (top) floor of the church.  There were only a few chairs in the room, so Dale and I had to carry chairs from the back of the sanctuary on the first floor and up two flights of stairs.  About 45 of them.

Yikes! This flowing river of mud was our road to ARTS this morning! Four-wheel drive for the win, although we weren’t so sure while in the middle of the trek. Greg, our driver, just said, “PRAY!” as he plunged us into the flow. There were ditches on either side and...
